The Story that Started Something to Hold

The founder, Abigail, shares how years of infertility, pregnancy losses, and deep grief shaped the heart of the Something to Hold ministry. After multiple fertility treatments and miscarriages, including losses she lovingly named Storm and Blueberry, Abigail found comfort in making a simple fleece blanket during a season of sorrow. That tangible comfort sparked the idea of sharing blankets with other families walking similar loss journeys. When she shared the story on social media on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, her community quickly rallied to make and send blankets to grieving families — revealing a clear need for comfort and connection.

A Goodbye to Our Angel Keepsakes

From the very beginning of Something to Hold, one of our earliest offerings was the Angel Keepsake — simple ornaments meant to honor the precious lives of babies gone too soon. These keepsakes were more than a fundraiser; they were symbols of remembrance, connection, and love. They played a beautiful role in shaping this ministry and helping it grow. In many ways, they helped bring Something to Hold into being. How amazing is it to look back and see how God used those small beginnings to build something much bigger?

And now, with full hearts and deep gratitude, we’re announcing that the Angel Keepsake initiative has come to a close.

On June 5, our community showed up in the most beautiful way — through sugar, smiles, and service.

Our THIRD Something Sweet Bake Sale was a success, not just in the dollars raised but in the heart behind every cookie sold and every conversation shared. Hosted by some of our incredible volunteers, this event helped fund – our debut Held & Heard support gathering along with adding “infertility” to the communities we will support.
