Something to Hold

Nonprofit gifting hand-tied blankets to mamas of loss through miscarriage, stillbirth & infant loss.

May is for the Mamas fundraiser

Remembering the ones that may be hurting, healing & needing something to hold.

For the month of May, to honor the community of mothers that may be hurting & healing we are hosting our largest online fundraiser to date. Blanket Request submissions will be opened up after our campaign. Donations are tax-deductible .

Join us in raising 200 blankets so that we are able to:

  1. Complete our waiting list of mamas with empty arms

  2. Open the “doors” to blanket request submissions once again

  3. Prepare to build up an inventory to offer comfort for future losses

When you give…

A tangible comfort is gifted to a family who’s arms are empty when they should be holding their little one.

After my second loss in May of 2021, I made myself a tie blanket & it was my something to hold. When you lose a baby in pregnancy or infant loss, as a mother your body yearns for that baby in your arms. Your mind, body & soul feel that missing person.

October of that year we reached out to see if another family could use a blanket as comfort during a loss. After 8 families were gifted blankets all by our community, more requests started coming in. We have been making blankets ever since.

Early in 2023 we became an official 501c3 tax-deductible public charity. Blankets have been sent & events have been hosted all across the United States. Our local community here in NW Indiana is rapidly growing & we are prayerfully following where the Lord leads this ministry.

This is how I “mama” my first two babies. I will forever be in awe of what the Lord is doing here & that He chose our story for this. Our hope is that it can be that for whoever needs it.

with love, The Sikma Family - Luke, Abigail, Gentry, Baby & our two Angels

The Impact

“…I got home and realized that someone had prayed over the blanket and written a personal note. I wept. It was so overwhelming to feel so cared for by someone I had never met…”

Sent in from one of our Mamas of loss

“I went to an event last night for those struggling with infertility. At the event, there was a blanket and a devotional for each of us. I didn't read the note until I got home and realized that someone had prayed over the blanket and written a personal note. I wept. It was so overwhelming to feel so cared for by someone I had never met. My first embryo transfer just failed, and I have felt so lonely, unseen and heartbroken. The blanket and devotional brought me so much comfort, as I never feel my loss is a "real" loss since it wasn't a miscarriage. I wanted to say thank you for the work you're doing and the ministry you run. It has impacted me and I am so grateful. I hope you can pass along my thanks to the volunteers, too.”
